Day thirteen 16th Sep
Up nice and early, everything packed and set off to get to Dunkerque for lunch time but we only got as far as the campsite gates, they were locked. Another car was there also and they had been to all of the other gates to try to get out but with no luck. I decided to do the obvious and walk to reception to see security but just as I was getting out of the car they arrived and let us out.
Arrived in plenty of time and the earlier ferry was still loading, even though the signs on the gates said the next ferry was the one we were due on. I hoped we would be put on this earlier one but the car in front of us took an age to check in and I feared we would be too late. Eventually we checked in and drove straight onto the ferry, the doors closed behind us and we were on our way home.

France Sep 2010, Day Twelve
Day twelve 15th Sep
Today was our last full day in France, so we had a nice relaxing day by the van, we did most of the packing and then had another walk into town for a coupe of beers outside the Tabac in the hot sun, people watching.

France Sep 2010, Day Eleven
Day eleven 14th Sep
Well we had now been in the area twice and not visited Compiègne, we had driven round it but been into the centre. So that is where we went, we drove along the main road to see if it was clear for the trip home, there were diversion signs dotted about and I though part of the road may be closed. It wasn't there were just some road works and it was lorries that were being diverted to cut down on traffic congestion.
We parked up near the Parc Du Chateau (got the last place in the car park there)and walked into town. After a quick look around the centre we made our way down to the river.
From there we then crossed over the river to look at the train station and had a bit of a walk by the river before heading back over the bridge to the centre.
We went back into the centre to look in the shops and have a better look round before finding a bar for a quick beer. The centre was a lot quieter than I thought it would be for a large place like this. We then had a final look in the shops before heading back to the site for a dip in the pool.
We didn't go directly to the site but drove along the river where we could, looking for bridges to photo that I had not already got.
After cooling off in the pool, we spent the evening sat in the sun outside the van with a few new French beers.
